When Will It Ever End?
By now, you’ve heard about the brutal death of George Floyd. George Floyd died after being arrested by police outside a shop in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Footage of the arrest on May 25th shows a white police officer, Derek Chauvin, kneeling on Mr Floyd's neck while he was pinned to the ground. Derek Chauvin, 44, has since been charged with murder.
Black men & women continue the ongoing and historic battle with police brutality in America. George Floyd has been added to the long list of black men & women who were unjustly killed in the hands of police. The black community has had enough of these killings and the trauma it brings to their community.
Residents of Minnesota and cities all over the US have responded by protesting and rioting. The riots have spread through Minneapolis, Los Angeles, & Atlanta. Frustrated members of the black community are showing their anger, and pain they have had to endure without justice being served for years. Peaceful protests are no longer working to cause the change that is needed.
There has been a social media outpour to support the black community. Countries all over the world are coming together to show their support and fight injustice against African Americans who face senseless deaths with the police.Moving Forward: How will people continue supporting the black community when things calm down and go back to normal?
